About Me

My name is Annette Reinosa, a multidisciplinary artist from Puerto Rico currently based in Tampa, FL.

The odd garden is an extension of my creativity, where I connect with myself and other creatives.

I started my journey in 2012, skateboarding and making art, something I was passionate about and consistent with. I attended college at Escuela de Artes Plásticas in 2015 for three years, where I acquired knowledge of visual arts (Photography, Video, Drawing, Painting, design, and more). With that experience, I focused on improving my skill set and dedicating more time to my craft. Once I realized art and skateboarding went hand in hand, I dedicated myself to immersing in both worlds as much as I could, and ever since I started, it has become part of my everyday life. In 2017 I moved to Florida, searching for change, seeking other opportunities, experiences, and different scenes, and learning about different life perspectives. This move led me to become a part of the skate scene in central Florida and acquire a more profound knowledge of the skateboarding culture.

In 2019 I created Garden Skate along Ashlin Horsely, bringing a community of girl skaters together in central Florida. My primary role was to lead and design how we would present it to the world. I used my colorful, out-of-the-box ideas to bring those thoughts to life. We got a lot of people together, and it was an extraordinary experience that allowed me to empower girls to skate and meet wonderful people in the community. Skateboarding has significantly influenced my development as a person and artist; it has allowed me to have incredible connections with people and experiences that have been genuine and organic.

My art explores a visual universe of nature and vivid colors in an unconventional way inspired by flowers and psychedelic visuals. I use different mediums to communicate these twisted ideas.

I use photography to record life experiences at specific moments in time. Taking photos is a big part of my creative process, considering that I use them as a reference or inspiration from the things that captivate me. I'm mainly fascinated by flowers and nature, people and the skateboarding lifestyle, and anything odd. Aside from that, I use myself as the subject for body and movement experiments.

I want to keep inspiring people through art and skateboarding, Especially females and anyone who struggles with accomplishing their goals and feeling confident in themselves. I'm on a steady learning path wanting to keep expanding my skillset and share the opportunity to create unique projects with other creatives.
